Frequently asked questions about sending inventory, WROs, UROs, inventory tracking, replenishment, MultiHub IQ, and inventory management best practices.
Common questions about creating WROs, sending inventory to fulfillment centers, tracking stock levels, managing inventory across multiple locations, and inventory replenishment.
What is a WRO and why do I need one?
A Warehouse Receiving Order (WRO) is a shipment notification that tells Jetpack what inventory you’re sending, where it’s going, and when to expect it. WROs are required for all shipments and must be printed and attached to each incoming box or pallet. Without a proper WRO, your shipment will be placed on hold as a URO (Unidentified Receiving Order). Learn how to create a WRO.
How long does it take to receive my inventory after it arrives?
Most shipments are fully received and ready within around 2 business days of arrival at a Jetpack fulfillment center. During peak periods, it may take up to the official SLA of 4 business days. The SLA countdown begins when your shipment arrives at the fulfillment center (not when you create the WRO), so plan your replenishment schedules accordingly. Learn more about receiving timelines.
Can I edit a WRO after creating it?
Yes, but only if the WRO is in “Awaiting Arrival” status and before your shipment arrives at the fulfillment center. You can update the fulfillment center, product quantities, lot information, and box configuration. Once your shipment arrives or begins processing, editing is no longer available. If you need changes after arrival, contact Jetpack Care immediately. Learn how to edit a WRO.
What is a URO and how do I resolve it?
A URO (Unidentified Receiving Order) occurs when a shipment arrives without proper identification or with information that doesn’t match Jetpack’s records. Common causes include missing WRO labels, incorrect quantities (10%+ overage or 25+ units), wrong products, or damaged documentation. To resolve a URO, link it to an existing WRO or create a new WRO matching what was actually received. UROs are automatically disposed after 90 days if unresolved. Learn about UROs and how to resolve them.
Do I need to book a dock appointment for my shipment?
Dock appointments are required for palletized shipments, LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight, large volume shipments, and floor-loaded containers. Small parcels under 50 lbs via standard carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) typically don’t require appointments. Jetpack uses Opendock to manage dock scheduling across all fulfillment centers. Learn how to book dock appointments.
How do I track my WRO status?
Navigate to Receiving > Receiving Orders in your Jetpack dashboard to view all WROs. Statuses include: Awaiting (in transit), Partially Arrived (some boxes received), Arrived (all boxes at facility, processing starting), Processing (active receiving), and Received (complete and inventory available). Click any WRO ID to see a detailed timeline with box-level tracking, product summaries, and receiving progress. Learn about managing WROs.
Can I add multiple products to a WRO at once?
Yes, use the bulk product upload feature when creating a WRO. Download the CSV template, fill in up to 100 products with quantities and lot information, then upload it during WRO creation. This saves significant time compared to adding products one by one, especially for large catalogs or shipments with complex lot management. Learn about WRO bulk product upload.
How do I view my current inventory levels?
The Inventory Status page in your dashboard shows real-time inventory data across all fulfillment centers. View inventory by Location (tabs for each fulfillment center) or by Status (aggregated across all locations). The page displays On-Hand, Committed, Fulfillable, Sellable, Incoming, and Backordered quantities for each SKU. You can customize columns, apply filters, and export data. Learn about the Inventory Status page.
What's the difference between On-Hand, Committed, Fulfillable, and Sellable inventory?
On-Hand is total available units (including units assigned to orders but not yet picked). Committed is units assigned to orders but not yet picked. Fulfillable is calculated as On-Hand minus Committed (available for new orders). Sellable is Fulfillable minus Exception orders (what can be sold through your channels). Incoming shows units in transit via WROs. Learn more about inventory quantities.
How do I track inventory adjustments and changes?
The Inventory History page provides a complete audit trail of every inventory adjustment for your SKUs. View details about when adjustments occurred, what action was performed (receiving, picking, transfer, etc.), the fulfillment center location, bin number, quantity change, and reference IDs like WRO numbers. You can filter by date range, action type, and location, then export to Excel. Learn about Inventory History tracking.
How do I transfer inventory between fulfillment centers?
To transfer inventory, first create a WRO at your destination fulfillment center, then submit a B2B order from your origin fulfillment center. Include special instructions indicating it’s a transfer order, attach WRO labels, and select “One SKU per Box” configuration. Do not use “Let ShipBob Optimize for Me” when creating transfer orders. For international transfers, you’ll need prepaid DDP labels and proper customs documentation. Learn about inventory transfers.
What is MultiHub IQ and how does it work?
MultiHub IQ (MIQ) is Jetpack’s intelligent inventory distribution system that automatically allocates inbound inventory across regional fulfillment centers. You create a single WRO to your Hero Hub, and MIQ generates a transfer plan showing how inventory will be distributed based on demand forecasting, historical sales patterns, and geographical order origins. This reduces shipping costs and improves delivery times without manually managing multi-location inventory. Learn about MultiHub IQ.
Can I edit the MultiHub IQ transfer plan?
Yes, you can edit MIQ transfer plans until your shipment arrives at the Hero Hub. After submission, review the auto-generated transfer plan on the WRO details page. Edit via the dashboard interface or download an Excel template for bulk edits. Common reasons to edit include regional promotional campaigns, new product launches, seasonal demand shifts, or testing new fulfillment center locations. Learn how to modify MIQ distributions.
How do I know when to replenish inventory?
Jetpack provides four complementary replenishment tools:
Reorder Points for automated email alerts when stock falls below thresholds
Inventory Replenishment Report for 12-month demand forecasts and recommended replenishment dates
Inventory Velocity Report for analyzing sales velocity and days on hand
Out of Stock Report for monitoring current stockouts and exception orders
Reorder points are inventory thresholds that trigger automated email alerts when stock falls below a configured level for specific products at specific fulfillment centers. Calculate reorder points using: (Average Daily Demand) × (Manufacturer Lead Time + Jetpack Receiving SLA + Safety Stock Days). For example, if you sell 10 units/day with a 14-day lead time, 4-day receiving SLA, and 14-day safety buffer, your reorder point should be 320 units. Configure reorder points in Products > [Product] > Inventory tab. Learn about setting reorder points.
How accurate are Jetpack's inventory forecasts?
Jetpack’s forecasting algorithms use historical order data, seasonality patterns, and trend analysis to project demand over the next 12 months. Forecasts refresh weekly and require at least 100 units shipped in the last 14 days for SKU-level recommendations. However, forecasts should be ONE input in your replenishment strategy, not the sole decision-making tool. Consider unexpected demand changes, promotional campaigns, supply chain disruptions, and seasonality when planning replenishment. Learn about replenishment tools.
What is the Inventory Distribution page used for?
The Inventory Distribution page shows where your customers are located and estimates potential savings from distributing inventory strategically across US fulfillment centers. It requires a minimum of 40 B2C orders per month and displays order destinations as an interactive map.Compare your current distribution against “ideal” configurations (Best 5 Regions down to Best 1 Region) to see estimated fulfillment cost savings and transit time reductions. Note that savings estimates don’t include storage or transfer costs. Learn about Inventory Distribution analysis.
Can I dispose of or donate excess inventory?
Yes, Jetpack offers disposal and donation options through work orders:
Standard disposal places items in regular dumpsters
Specialized disposal includes certified destruction, third-party pickup, or handling of dangerous goods/HAZMAT
Donations go through GiveNKind (US only), Jetpack’s nonprofit partner
You must obtain GiveNKind approval before submitting donation work orders. Specialized disposal requests require coordination with Jetpack Care. Learn about donating and disposing inventory.
How does inventory sync with retailer websites work?
Jetpack’s inventory sync feature automatically updates inventory counts across retailer websites to prevent overselling in dropship programs. This requires shipping within the US and integration with an EDI automated dropshipping retailer. Contact your Implementation Specialist or Jetpack Care to enable inventory sync by retailer. Learn about inventory sync by retailer.
What happens if my WRO has quantity discrepancies?
If Jetpack receives quantities that differ from your WRO, the discrepancy will be noted during receiving. Overages of 10%+ or 25+ units will result in a URO. Shortages are recorded in the WRO summary, showing “Quantity Sent” vs. “Quantity Received.” You can review discrepancies on the WRO details page and in the Inventory History page. For hub locations with MSM approval, minor overages of identifiable products may be automatically processed instead of creating UROs. Learn about URO scenarios.
How do I prevent common WRO mistakes?
Avoid these common issues:
Incorrect expiration dates that don’t match physical products
Missing DG/HAZMAT classifications
Inaccurate quantities between WRO and actual shipment
Forgetting to print and attach WRO labels to boxes/pallets
Wrong fulfillment center selection
Incomplete box information
Always add tracking numbers as soon as labels are generated, use sturdy packaging, label all sides of boxes, and reach out to Jetpack Care for a WRO review before shipping. Learn about avoiding WRO mistakes.
