Alphabetical reference of technical terms, acronyms, and fulfillment concepts used in Jetpack documentation. Click terms to learn more about each topic.

A

Account - Your Jetpack account registered to access fulfillment services. See Account Setup. Action Required Status - Order status indicating an issue preventing fulfillment (replaces legacy On-Hold and Exception statuses). See Orders With Action Required. Actual Product Value - The actual value of goods as evidenced by the original purchase invoice from the manufacturer or supplier. API (Application Programming Interface) - Technical method for integrating external systems with the Jetpack Platform. See Other Integrations. Automation Rules - Conditional logic that automatically applies fulfillment behaviors based on order attributes. See Automation Rules.

B

B2B (Business-to-Business) - Fulfillment services for wholesale, retail distribution, and marketplace prep orders. See B2B Fulfillment. B2C (Business-to-Consumer) - Direct-to-consumer fulfillment services for individual customer orders. See D2C Fulfillment. Barcode - Machine-readable code used to identify products during receiving, picking, and packing. See About Barcodes. Bulk Actions - Operations performed on multiple orders simultaneously. See Bulk Actions on Orders. Bundle - Product combining multiple SKUs into one sellable unit. See Creating Product Bundles. Business Day - A day other than Saturday, Sunday, public holiday, or day when banks in the fulfillment center’s jurisdiction are closed for business.

C

Carrier - Independent third-party shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.) responsible for transporting shipments. See Choosing Default Carriers. Carrier Charges - All costs and fees associated with the carriage of goods undertaken by or on behalf of Jetpack. CDT (Customs, Duties, and Taxes) - International shipment charges assessed by carriers, customs officials, or governmental agencies. Committed Inventory - Inventory reserved for specific orders but not yet picked or shipped. Commercial Invoice - International shipping documentation showing product value, HS codes, and country of origin. See Customs + Commercial Invoices. Custom Packaging - Branded boxes, inserts, and specialized packaging materials. See Custom Packaging Options.

D

D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) - Fulfillment model for shipping individual orders directly to end customers. See Our Approach to D2C. Dangerous Goods - Products classified as hazardous materials requiring special handling. See Dangerous Goods / HAZMAT Policy. DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) - Incoterm indicating seller pays all duties and taxes; goods delivered to fulfillment centers with duties paid and released for free circulation. Delivery Exception - Carrier-encountered issue preventing successful delivery (incorrect address, damaged package, etc.). Digital Product - Non-physical items that don’t require fulfillment. See Digital Products. Distribution - The process of allocating inventory across multiple fulfillment centers. See Inventory Distribution. Dropshipping - Retail fulfillment where orders ship directly to end customers on behalf of retail partners. See Retail Dropshipping.

E

EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) - Number required for EU customs documentation. Exception Order - Legacy term for orders with issues preventing fulfillment (now Action Required status). Expiration Date - Date by which lot-tracked products must be sold or disposed. See Lot Products.

F

FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) - Amazon’s fulfillment service where inventory ships to Amazon warehouses for storage and order fulfillment. See Amazon FBA with Jetpack. FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) - Amazon orders fulfilled by third-party fulfillment providers like Jetpack. See Amazon FBM with Jetpack. FC (Fulfillment Center) - Warehouse facility where inventory is stored, picked, packed, and shipped. Force Majeure Event - Uncontrollable circumstances (natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, etc.) that prevent obligation performance under the Terms of Service. FTL (Full Truckload) - Freight shipping method using an entire truck for a single shipment. Fulfillable Inventory - On-hand inventory available for order fulfillment (excludes inventory in quarantine, processing, or committed to exception orders). Fulfillment - The complete process of receiving, counting, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods. Fulfillment Cost - Total charges for order processing, including picking, packing, materials, and carrier costs.

G

Gift Note - Custom message included with orders for gift recipients. See Gift Notes. Goods - Physical products sold by merchants and stored at Jetpack fulfillment centers. GRI (General Rate Increase) - Carrier-applied rate increases passed through to merchants.

H

HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) - Products requiring special handling and labeling due to dangerous goods classification. See Dangerous Goods / HAZMAT Policy. Head SKUs - High-velocity products distributed across multiple fulfillment centers in MultiHub IQ. Hero Hub - Primary fulfillment center where all MultiHub IQ-managed WROs are sent for receiving and redistribution. See What is MultiHub IQ?. Hero Site - Fulfillment center (typically your Hero Hub) that stocks all SKUs to minimize split/exception orders. HS Code (Harmonized System Code) - International tariff classification code for products. See Customs + Commercial Invoices. Hub - Primary receiving location where shipments arrive for initial processing before distribution to fulfillment centers.

I

Ingestion Channel - Technical method used to create orders in the dashboard (Store Integration, API, or Manual). Integration - Connection between ecommerce platforms and the Jetpack Platform for automatic order and product syncing. See Integrating Your Store. Internal Transfer Order (ITO) - Shipment of inventory between Jetpack fulfillment centers to rebalance distribution. See Replenishing + Rebalancing With MIQ. Inventory Distribution - Data-driven analysis of optimal inventory placement across fulfillment centers. See Inventory Distribution. Inventory History - Audit trail of every inventory adjustment including receiving, fulfillment, transfers, and manual adjustments. See Inventory History Page. Inventory Status - Real-time view of inventory levels showing On-Hand, Committed, Fulfillable, and Sellable quantities. See Inventory Status Page. Inventory Sync - Automatic updating of inventory counts across retailer websites to prevent overselling. See Inventory Sync by Retailer. Inventory Transfer - Movement of inventory between fulfillment centers or to external facilities. See Inventory Transfers. Inventory Velocity - Rate at which SKUs are picked and shipped, measured as average daily units fulfilled. See Inventory Velocity Report.

J

Jetpack Care - Dedicated support team available via Slack, phone, or email for technical assistance and account management. See Jetpack Care. Jetpack Facility - Any fulfillment center or warehouse operated by Jetpack or SFN Providers using Jetpack’s WMS. Jetpack Platform - Jetpack’s proprietary platform and associated technology for managing goods, submitting orders, and fulfilling orders.

K

Kitting - Process of combining multiple SKUs into a single packaged unit. See Creating Kitting Work Orders.

L

Labeled Status - Order status indicating a shipping label has been generated and the order is ready for carrier pickup. Lot Number - Batch identifier for products requiring lot tracking (expiration dates, batch codes). See Lot Products. LTL (Less Than Truckload) - Freight shipping method for palletized shipments that don’t fill an entire truck.

M

Manual Order - Order created directly in the Jetpack dashboard rather than synced from an integration. See Creating Manual B2B Orders. MIQ (MultiHub IQ) - Jetpack’s intelligent inventory distribution system that automatically allocates inbound inventory across regional fulfillment centers. See What is MultiHub IQ?. MultiHub IQ - Jetpack’s intelligent inventory distribution system using a Hero Hub model and AI-driven allocation. Never use spaces or dashes (not “Multi-Hub IQ” or “Multi-Hub-IQ”). O

On-Hand Inventory - Total physical inventory units present at fulfillment centers. Order - The complete record of everything purchased by a customer, including all shipping information and products. Order Allocation - Process of determining which fulfillment center will fulfill each order. See Order Allocation Explained. Order Status - Current stage of an order in the fulfillment workflow. See Order Status Overview. Order Type - Classification of order (B2C, B2B, Kitting, FBA Prep, etc.). Order View - Display mode showing each store order as a single row regardless of shipment count. OOS (Out of Stock) - Condition where SKU inventory has depleted to zero. See Out of Stock with Exceptions Report.

P

Packing Slip - Document included with orders showing products, quantities, and order details. See Customizing Packing Slips. Peak Season - High-volume period between the fourth Thursday of November and December 24. Personal Information - Any data or information constituting “personal information”, “personal data”, or analogous terms under applicable law. Pick by Lot - Fulfillment process selecting specific lot-tracked inventory for B2B orders. See Pick By Lot (B2B Orders). Picked Status - Order status indicating products have been picked from inventory and are ready for packing. Priority Order - Outstanding or pending order requiring expedited fulfillment processing. Processing Status - Order status indicating the order is currently being picked, packed, and prepared for shipment. Product Catalog - Central hub displaying all SKUs in your Jetpack account. See Product Catalog Page. Product Variant - Variations of a parent product (sizes, colors, styles) grouped under a single parent SKU. See Adding Product Variants.

Q

Quarantine - Storage status for inventory requiring inspection, approval, or segregation before becoming fulfillable.

R

Rebalance Point - Recommended total units to maintain across the entire fulfillment center network for MultiHub IQ distribution (network-wide threshold). Receiving - Process of unloading, scanning, inspecting, counting, and stowing inbound inventory shipments. Rejected Goods - Inventory that fails compliance obligations and may be rejected, quarantined, or suspended from fulfillment services. Reorder Point - Stock threshold for a single fulfillment center that triggers replenishment alerts (individual FC threshold). See Setting Reorder Points. Replenishment - Process of restocking inventory when levels fall below reorder points. See Managing Replenishment Schedules. Returns - Process of receiving and processing products returned by customers. See Returns Processing. RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) - Authorization code for processing customer returns. See RMA Process. RTS (Ready to Ship) - Inventory that has been received, inspected, counted, and stowed, making it available for order fulfillment.

S

Sales Channel - Store or marketplace where orders originated (Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, etc.). Sellable Inventory - Inventory available for sale and order fulfillment, visible to integrations for inventory sync. Serial Number - Unique identifier assigned to individual product units for tracking. See Product Serial Numbers. SFN Provider - Third-party fulfillment or warehouse providers using Jetpack’s WMS at their facilities. Shipment - Individual package(s) being shipped to fulfill an order, each with its own tracking number. Shipment Details - Complete order information including customer details, products, costs, and timeline. See Shipment Details Page. Shipment ID - Unique identifier assigned to each shipment in the Jetpack dashboard. Shipment View - Display mode showing each individual shipment as a separate row. Ship Date - Date the order received its “Order Picked Up” carrier scan. Ship Option - Selected shipping speed or service level (Standard, Expedited, Overnight, etc.). ShipBob API - API infrastructure licensed by Jetpack for programmatic integrations (keep “ShipBob” branding for API references). ShipBob Default - Default shipping carrier service option that automatically populates in shipping preferences. ShipBob Shipping Services - Carrier services branded as ShipBob (ShipBob Standard, ShipBob Expedited, ShipBob 2-Day, etc.). Keep “ShipBob” branding for shipping method names. Shrink Allowance - Acceptable tolerance for inventory loss or damage (0.5% of total goods value annually). Signature Required - Delivery option requiring recipient signature for package receipt. See Add/Remove Signature Requirement. SIOC (Ships in Own Container) - Packaging preference where product packaging serves as shipping container. SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) - Unique identifier for each distinct product or variant in your inventory. SLA (Service Level Agreement) - Guaranteed turnaround times for fulfillment operations. See Service Level Agreements. Split Shipment - Order fulfilled from multiple fulfillment centers, resulting in separate shipments to the customer. See Splitting Orders. Standard Packaging - Non-branded boxes, mailers, and tubes included in base fulfillment pricing. See Packaging Materials. Store Order ID - Unique order number from your integrated ecommerce store or marketplace. Stowing - Process of placing received inventory into designated storage locations at fulfillment centers.

T

Tail SKUs - Slower-moving products concentrated primarily at Hero Sites in MultiHub IQ distribution. Tracking ID - Carrier tracking number assigned after shipping label generation. Tracking Number - Unique identifier from carriers for shipment tracking. See Tracking and Packaging. Transaction Taxes - Value added, sales/use, inventory, CDT, and service taxes (including GST) levied in connection with services. Transfer Plan - Auto-generated allocation showing how MultiHub IQ will distribute each SKU across enabled fulfillment centers. See Replenishing + Rebalancing With MIQ.

U

Unreserve Inventory - Action that removes inventory reservation from orders without permanently canceling them. URO (Unidentified Receiving Order) - Inbound shipment that arrives without proper WRO documentation or with mismatched labels. See Unidentified Receiving Orders.

V

Variant - Product variation (size, color, style) grouped under a parent SKU. See Adding Product Variants. Velocity - Rate at which SKUs are picked and shipped, measured as average daily units fulfilled. See Inventory Velocity Report.

W

Warehouse - See Fulfillment Center (FC). WMS (Warehouse Management System) - Jetpack’s proprietary warehouse management system used at all Jetpack facilities. Wholesale - B2B fulfillment for bulk orders shipped to business customers. See Creating Manual B2B Orders. Work Order - Request for kitting, assembly, donation, or disposal operations. See Managing Kitting Work Orders. WRO (Warehouse Receiving Order) - Digital bill of lading submitted through the Jetpack Platform before shipping inventory to fulfillment centers. See Creating a Warehouse Receiving Order.
