Common questions about setting up products in Jetpack, including dimensions, barcodes, DG/HAZMAT requirements, bundles, kitting, and product configuration.
You can add products in three ways: sync from integrated stores (Shopify, Amazon, etc.), add manually one at a time, or import in bulk via Excel template. To sync products, use Quick Actions > Sync Your Products. To add manually, click Products > Add Product and choose your method.Learn more: Syncing Your Products and Manually Adding Products.
A base product is a standalone physical product with its own SKU and inventory. A parent/primary product is a non-physical container that groups related variants together (has a name and category but no SKU). Variants are physical products that differ by characteristics like color or size, nested under a parent product. Each variant has its own SKU, dimensions, and inventory levels.Learn more: Adding Product Variants.
No, base products cannot be converted into parent/primary products once created. However, you can convert a base product into a variant and move it under a new or existing parent product. Parent products must be created from the start as products with variants (minimum 2 variants required).Learn more: Move, Merge, or Convert Products.
Product dimensions and weight are automatically generated by Jetpack’s Cubiscan system during the receiving process at fulfillment centers. These fields are read-only and cannot be manually edited to ensure accuracy. Your products are measured when they arrive at the warehouse via WRO.Learn more: Product Details Page.
If no packaging preference is assigned, orders containing those products will move to On-Hold status until you configure the setting. You must select one packaging attribute per SKU (Box, Bubble Mailer, Poly Mailer, Custom Packaging, or Ship in Own Container).Learn more: Setting Product Preferences.
First, physically attach barcode labels to your products (recommended format: Avery 5160). Then in the Jetpack dashboard, go to Products > select your product > Inventory tab > enter the barcode(s) in the Barcode field > press Enter after each barcode > Save. Barcodes cannot contain special characters or spaces.Learn more: About Barcodes.
Jetpack supports standard barcode formats including UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, EAN-14, Code-39, Code-93, Code-128, Code-11, Interleaved 2 of 5, SCC-14, and QR Codes. Barcodes must be entered as a single continuous line without special characters or spaces.Learn more: About Barcodes.
Before creating your first WRO, configure:
  1. Product category
  2. Packaging requirements
  3. Customs information (for international orders)
  4. Dangerous goods classification (if applicable)
  5. Barcodes
Missing information can cause receiving delays or create Unidentified Receiving Orders (UROs).Learn more: Syncing Your Products.
On the Product Details page, scroll to the Fulfillment Information tile and check “This is classified as dangerous goods (DG)/HAZMAT.” Once flagged, products cannot be unmarked without Jetpack support approval. Contact your Jetpack Care team via Slack before flagging products to confirm we can ship them and determine required documentation.Learn more: Product Details Page.
Customs information (tariff code, value, description) is required for all international shipments. Orders without customs data will be held until you provide the information. You must enter the tariff code (6+ digits), retail value (for duties/taxes), and detailed description (max 150 characters) on the Product Details page > Customs Information tile.Learn more: Product Details Page.
Bundles are virtual containers that group multiple SKUs together for selling purposes—individual items remain stored separately and are picked together when ordered (no assembly required). Kitting orders involve actual physical assembly or preparation work (e.g., folding custom boxes, applying stickers, physically combining items), which incurs kitting fees and creates physical end-kitted inventory.Learn more: Creating Product Bundles and Creating Kitting Orders.
Yes, but the quantity must be greater than 1. For example, you can create a 3-pack bundle of the same item by setting the quantity to 3. If you’re bundling multiple different products, there’s no minimum quantity requirement.Learn more: Creating Product Bundles.
Go to Products > click the 3-dot menu (More) > select Bulk Update Products > click the template link to receive an email > download the CSV template > edit product details > save as .csv (not .xlsx) > upload to Jetpack dashboard > Import Products. You’ll receive an email summary of the bulk update.Learn more: Bulk Updating Product Details.
Digital products are non-physical items (gift cards, PDFs, downloads, or physical items not stored at Jetpack) that are automatically excluded from warehouse fulfillment. This prevents orders from going to Exception status due to insufficient inventory for items that don’t exist physically at fulfillment centers. Products cannot be marked as Digital if they have On-Hand inventory.Learn more: Digital Products.
Contact Jetpack Care to discuss pricing for serial number management. Then on the Product Details page > Fulfillment Information tile > check “This needs a serial scan” > enter a Prefix and/or Suffix (at least one required) > Save. Each unit must have a consistent prefix/suffix identifier for tracking.Learn more: Product Serial Numbers.
Yes, you can update a product’s SKU in the Product Details page. However, SKU changes in Jetpack do not automatically sync back to your sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, etc.). You must manually update your store platforms to prevent fulfillment errors and order mismatches.Learn more: Product Details Page.
Reorder points are stock level thresholds that trigger email alerts when inventory runs low at a specific fulfillment center. Set them on the Product Details page > Inventory tab > Inventory by Location section. Base your reorder point on your replenishment lead time and sales velocity (e.g., if it takes 2 weeks to ship inventory and you sell 100/week, set to at least 200 units).Learn more: Setting Product Preferences.
Open the parent product’s details page > click the Variants tab > click Add Variant > enter the variant name and unique SKU > Save. You can add up to 100 variants per parent product. You cannot add variants to a base product—only to an existing parent/primary product.Learn more: Adding Product Variants.
Inactive products cannot be received via Warehouse Receiving Orders (WROs). If orders contain Inactive products, they will move to Exception status. Only Active products are available for fulfillment. Toggle product status on the Product Details page > Product Overview tile.Learn more: Product Details Page.
The kitting action depends on how items were shipped. If items are already packed in cases but designated as single units in Jetpack, use the kitting action “Change item SKU to kit SKU.” If items need to be packed into Jetpack standard boxes to create cases, use “Place item in Jetpack packaging.”Learn more: Kitting Orders FAQs.
No, for existing products with inventory on hand, non-barcoded units cannot be mixed with barcoded ones for the same SKU. If this occurs, you’ll need to create a new product, use a WRO to associate the units with the new SKU, deplete existing inventory, merge the products, and test with a sample order.Learn more: About Barcodes.
