For larger shipments, palletized freight, or LTL deliveries, booking a dock appointment is essential to ensure smooth receiving at Jetpack fulfillment centers. Our appointment system helps manage dock capacity and reduces waiting times for carriers.

When You Need a Dock Appointment

Dock appointments are required for:
Palletized Shipments: Any inventory delivered on pallets
Freight Deliveries: LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments
Large Volume: High-volume shipments that exceed standard parcel size
Container Deliveries: Floor-loaded containers requiring dock access
Shipments under 50 lbs via standard carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) typically don’t require appointments and can be delivered during normal business hours.

Opendock Appointment System

Jetpack uses Opendock to manage dock scheduling across all fulfillment centers. This system ensures efficient coordination between your carriers and our receiving teams.

Getting Started with Opendock

If you don’t have an Opendock account:
  1. You’ll be invited when you need to schedule your first appointment
  2. Set up your account with company details
  3. Add team members who will manage appointments
If you already have an account:
  • Log in with your existing credentials
  • Contact your Jetpack Care manager for any questions

Scheduling Your Appointment

Find your fulfillment center

Log in to your Opendock account and confirm the hub name with your Jetpack Care manager to ensure correct facility. Book your appointment

On the fulfillment center details page, click “Book Appointment”, then select the appropriate load type:
  • Palletized: Standard pallet deliveries
  • Floor Loaded: Container shipments
  • Flatbed: Large or oversized items

Choose date and time

Click “Date and Time” to access the scheduling calendar. Select a time slot at least 48 hours in advance (times shown are local to the fulfillment center). Green slots are available, red are booked.Appointment time selection calendar
All appointments must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance based on the fulfillment center’s local time zone. Last-minute appointments cannot be accommodated.

Provide shipment details

Complete all required appointment information:Essential Details (Required):
  • WRO ID: Your Warehouse Receiving Order number (for drop-offs)
  • Merchant Name: Your company’s registered business name
  • Number of Pallets: Accurate count required for dock planning
  • Contact Information: Phone number for carrier communication
Optional Information (Recommended):
  • PO Number: Your internal purchase order reference
  • Container Number: For container shipments
  • Order ID: Additional reference numbers
Documentation:
  • Bill of Lading (BOL): Upload if available
  • Appointment Notes: Special instructions or requirements

Confirm booking

Review all details to verify accuracy, then click “Confirm Booking” to submit your appointment request. You’ll see a confirmation message and receive email notification.Appointment booking confirmation

Managing Your Appointments

Viewing Existing Appointments

To access your scheduled appointments:
  1. Navigate to “My Appointments”: In the left sidebar
  2. Use Filters: Find appointments using:
    • Custom Date Range: Specific time periods
    • 7 Days: Upcoming week view
    • Today: Current day appointments
    • All: Complete appointment history

Making Changes to Appointments

Click on any appointment to access management options:

Rescheduling

To change your appointment time:
  • Select New Time: Choose from available slots
  • Confirm Changes: Update appointment details
  • Notification: All stakeholders receive update emails

Editing Details

To modify appointment information:
  • Update Information: Modify pallet counts, contact details, or notes
  • Add Documentation: Upload additional BOL or shipping documents
  • Contact Changes: Update notification email lists

Canceling Appointments

To cancel an appointment:
  • Cancel Option: Available up to the appointment time
  • Automatic Notifications: All parties receive cancellation notice
  • Rebook if Needed: Create new appointment if rescheduling
Appointment management options
While you can make changes up to the appointment time, we recommend making modifications at least 24 hours in advance to ensure smooth coordination with receiving teams.

Special Considerations

International Shipments

For shipments from outside the destination country:
Delivered Duty Paid (DDP): Required for all international shipments
Documentation: Ensure all customs paperwork is complete
Advance Notice: Allow extra time for customs clearance
Contact Support: Email appointments@jetpack.com for complex international deliveries

Large or Complex Shipments

For unusual shipments requiring special handling: To coordinate special deliveries:
  • Contact Support First: Email appointments@jetpack.com before booking
  • Provide Details: Include dimensions, weight, and special requirements
  • Advance Planning: Allow extra lead time for preparation
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed shipping manifests

Best Practices for Smooth Deliveries

Before Booking

To prepare for your appointment:
  • Verify WRO Details: Ensure your WRO is complete and accurate
  • Confirm Carrier: Coordinate timing with your freight provider
  • Check Requirements: Review any special handling needs

Day of Delivery

To ensure smooth receiving:
  • Arrive on Time: Carriers should arrive within the scheduled window
  • Bring Documentation: BOL, WRO paperwork, and identification
  • Contact Information: Ensure driver has dock contact details
  • Flexibility: Allow some buffer time for processing

After Delivery

To track your shipment progress:
  • Monitor Progress: Track receiving status in your Jetpack dashboard
  • Follow Up: Contact support if any issues arise during processing
