What is MultiHub IQ?

MultiHub IQ (MIQ) is Jetpack’s proprietary technology for intelligently distributing inventory across multiple fulfillment centers. Instead of guessing which locations to stock, MultiHub IQ uses demand forecasting, historical order data, and regional analytics to automatically recommend—and execute—optimal inventory placement. Think of it as autopilot for your inventory distribution. When you send inventory to Jetpack with MultiHub IQ enabled, you ship everything to a single “Hero Hub” location. From there, MIQ automatically redistributes your products to regional fulfillment centers based on where your customers are located. The result:
  • Faster delivery times (more orders ship 1-2 day ground)
  • Lower shipping costs (shorter distances = cheaper rates)
  • Reduced cart abandonment (customers see faster, more affordable shipping options)
  • Less manual work (no need to manage sending to multiple hubs or forecast demand by region yourself)

How MultiHub IQ Works

Here’s the simplified workflow:
1

You ship to your Hero Hub

Instead of sending inventory to multiple locations, you create a single WRO (Warehouse Receiving Order) and ship all your inventory to your designated Hero Hub. This simplifies inbound logistics and reduces shipping complexity.
2

MultiHub IQ analyzes demand

The system looks at your historical order data, current inventory levels, and regional demand patterns to determine the optimal distribution across fulfillment centers.
3

Inventory is redistributed automatically

Based on the analysis, Jetpack moves inventory from your Hero Hub to strategic regional fulfillment centers. This happens seamlessly in the background—no action required from you.
4

Orders ship from the closest center

When a customer places an order, it automatically routes to the fulfillment center closest to their delivery address. Your customer gets faster shipping at a lower cost.
5

Rebalancing happens continuously

As demand shifts—whether seasonally, due to marketing campaigns, or natural customer behavior changes—MultiHub IQ rebalances inventory to keep products where they’re needed most.
Not every business needs multi-hub distribution. If you’re just starting out, fulfilling from a single location might make more sense. Your Jetpack Care team will help you determine when MultiHub IQ becomes beneficial based on your order volume, customer distribution, and growth trajectory.

Benefits of Multi-Hub Distribution

Using multiple fulfillment centers isn’t just about speed—it’s a strategic advantage that impacts your entire business. Shipping Cost Savings The closer inventory is to your customers, the cheaper it is to ship. By distributing inventory across regions, you reduce the percentage of orders requiring expensive 2-3 day air shipping and increase the percentage that can ship via affordable ground services. Faster Delivery Times Customers increasingly expect 1-2 day delivery. With multi-hub distribution, more of your orders naturally fall into faster delivery zones without paying premium rates. Improved Cart Conversion When customers see affordable, fast shipping options at checkout, they’re more likely to complete the purchase. Strategically placed inventory makes those options possible. Redundancy and Reliability If one fulfillment center experiences delays (weather, carrier issues, capacity constraints), orders can route to another location. This redundancy protects your business from regional disruptions. Scalability As you expand into new markets—whether that’s Canada, the UK, or other regions—you already have the infrastructure in place. Turning on a new fulfillment center is as simple as adjusting your MultiHub IQ settings.

Choosing the Right Fulfillment Centers

Not sure which fulfillment centers to use? Your Jetpack Care team works with you to determine the best setup based on:
  • Where your customers are located – Order data shows geographic distribution
  • Order volume by region – High-volume regions justify dedicated inventory
  • Product characteristics – Some products (oversized, HAZMAT, temperature-sensitive) may have location restrictions
  • International shipping needs – Cross-border orders benefit from in-country fulfillment
  • Seasonal demand patterns – Temporarily activating regional centers during peak season
Single Hub Setup If you’re fulfilling fewer than 2,000-3,000 orders per month or your customer base is geographically concentrated, a single fulfillment center might be the right starting point. You can always expand later as your business grows. Multi-Hub Setup (with MultiHub IQ) For brands shipping 3,000+ orders per month with geographically diverse customers, multi-hub distribution delivers measurable cost savings and service improvements. MultiHub IQ makes this complexity manageable by automating the distribution logic.

How Rebalancing Works

Demand doesn’t stay static. Maybe a viral TikTok boosts sales in California. Maybe you launch a regional marketing campaign. Maybe seasonal trends shift where customers are ordering from. MultiHub IQ continuously monitors these changes and rebalances inventory accordingly. Rebalancing involves:
  • Internal Transfer Orders (ITOs) – Moving inventory between fulfillment centers to match demand
  • Restock recommendations – Suggesting when and where to send new inventory
  • Rebalance Point metrics – Jetpack calculates recommended total inventory levels across your network to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess storage
You don’t need to micromanage this process. Your Jetpack Care team proactively alerts you when rebalancing is recommended, and you can approve transfers with a single click.

International Fulfillment Made Simple

Shipping internationally comes with complexity: customs documentation, landed cost calculations, carrier selection, duties and taxes. When you have in-country inventory through Jetpack’s global network, much of this complexity disappears. Benefits of in-country fulfillment:
  • Faster delivery – Orders ship domestically within the destination country
  • Lower shipping costs – No international shipping premiums
  • Simplified customs – Inventory clears customs once when you send it, not on every order
  • Better customer experience – No surprise duties, faster delivery, easier returns
Example: If you’re a US-based brand expanding into the UK, you can store inventory at Jetpack’s UK fulfillment centers. When UK customers order, their packages ship domestically—just like your US orders. No customs delays, no extra fees, no complications. Warehouse Network FAQs

The Jetpack dashboard shows real-time inventory levels broken down by fulfillment center. Navigate to Inventory in the left sidebar, and you’ll see quantities at each location. You can also download inventory reports that include location details.
Yes. When you create a WRO (Warehouse Receiving Order), you select the destination fulfillment center. If you’re using MultiHub IQ, you send inventory to your Hero Hub, and the system handles distribution from there. You can also manually specify fulfillment centers for specific products if needed.
If you’re using multi-hub distribution and one location runs out, orders automatically route to the next closest fulfillment center with available inventory. Your Jetpack Care team will also proactively alert you when inventory at any location is running low.
Adding a new fulfillment center is usually a quick process. Once you and your Jetpack Care team decide on the location, you can begin sending inventory immediately. If using MultiHub IQ, the system starts redistributing inventory automatically once it arrives at your Hero Hub.
Yes. Every order in your dashboard includes shipment details showing which fulfillment center processed the order. You can also download order reports with fulfillment center data included.
There’s no hard minimum, but multi-hub distribution typically makes the most sense for brands fulfilling 3,000+ orders per month with geographically diverse customers. Your Jetpack Care team will help assess whether it’s the right fit for your business.
